Hey! Thanks for looking out for me.I am slowly making progress back into the everyone's blog list.

I have a MySpace., and thats about all it's just space. Hopefully you seasoned veterns can assist me. Think of me as one of your students:) Anyway, I would love to get together with you to talk BUSINESS.

How do you make such vivid colors and nicce images on your blog page????

I am by no means a "veteran". Until this class, I new NOTHING about 'blogging' or how to build a MySpace page. Just the other day, my son showed me how to download ...or upload (see what I mean) pictures onto my MySpace page.

In the beginning, I was somewhat disappointed with this class because I thought we were going to be IN CLASS more and learn more about technology and how to use it in our classrooms. Also understand, the last time I was in school, instruction was delivered and received in a totally different way. I'm use to interacting vis-a-vis with my professor(s). And even though I still have some issues with this form of instruction, I embrace the 'freedom' to work at your own pace, explore new ways of doing things and get feedback and help (if needed) from classmates.

(Sidebar)
You know, that's something I had not thought of until now. My college experience was not a collaborative experience. Quite the contrary, it was a lone journey. There were no 'new literacies' to help - couldn't email a classmate or blog a concern; there were no podcasts from the instructors. You took yourself to the library (remember that place) and stayed there until you were armed with the information you needed to get the assignment done. You went home and WROTE with a pen (remember that instrument) until that "writer's bump" appeared on your finger. Then you changed the ribbon on your typewriter and hours (days even) later, your work was done.

Right now, I'm gearing up to do the research paper that's due next month. I've been "TIVoing' some programs, relative to my topic, and I have even used my TREO Smartphone to write some notes. My phone has a feature called, 'DOCUMENTS TO GO'. While sitting in the doctors office, I remembered a news story I wanted to reference in my paper. I didn't want to forget the date or the story, so I put the information in my phone. Since then, I have created a file in my phone for my paper. I'll sync my phone to my computer so the file will be on my desktop and ready to use. I think to be able to do this with a cell phone is really cool and the first time I actually used this function, I was "outdone with myself".

So all in all, this has been a fruitful experience. When I think back to what I knew in January and what I know now...I'm slightly impressed. I still have a long way to go, but I'm getting there - and so will you.

MySpace has preset backgrounds from which to choose. My 'sunset' background is one of them. However, the pictures on my page are pictures I actually shot. I have so many more, but I'm using them for my business. I do not want to post them on MySpace, even though, I know people are using MySpace and YouTube to market their businesses these days. Perhaps, I may have to reassess my thinking and adjust a bit. Food for Thought!

I want to ask Koree how she did the "YOUTUBE" video. That was great. I'm not all that pleased with my MySpace page. It's Ok, but some people have really elaborate pages.

Whether I ever use MySpace again, after this class, has yet to be determined. Notwithstanding that, I STILL WANT TO KNOW HOW TO NAVIGATE THE TECHNOLOGY!

Email me your phone number at:
gadgetgirl650@yahoo.com, so we can discuss what WE DO BEST! My son is home and he has been helping with the business. He's in the process of building my website.

(It took me hours to write this because I kept proofreading everything. At this point, I'm tired. If there are any mistakes... forgive me and TOO BAD!) HAHAHAHA
